Resurrection Catholic Church & School is a vibrant Catholic community that came together in 1963 and continues to grow every day in members and in Faith. Our school has excelled in providing children a rich educational and spiritual environment. Our parish is a warm, encouraging and inspiring place to call home. We look forward to many years of continuing service in the Lakeland Community.
Nourished by Word and Eucharist, we live to Know, Love and Serve Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord!
A Message from Father Mark
It is with a heavy heart but a faithful spirit that I make this announcement…as you have probably already heard by now, the bishop has asked me to move to Blessed Sacrament parish in Clermont. I begin my duties there on July 20th. I know that we had just started to get to know each other again, then Covid-19 hit and everything has been in turmoil ever since. I’m sad that I won’t be here when the church re-opens to full capacity, I’m sad that I won’t be here to welcome our children back to school and I’m sad that many of the projects that we were working on will be “paused” for a bit, but hey, at least we got the roof on, right? :)
Fr. Tim LaBo will be helping during the transition as interim parochial administrator. He will remain Pastor at St Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland. We are not sure how long it will take for the Bishop to find the right replacement for Resurrection, but as soon as we learn anything new, we will pass along the information immediately. Please pray for Bishop Noonan during this time, as I know he is looking for a great priest to lead Resurrection.
Resurrection will remain Resurrection, and the amazing spirit of this community – which became so
beautifully apparent in the past few months during the pandemic – will continue to keep this parish strong, faithful, and committed to our mission to know, love and serve Jesus!
Your Pastoral Team is as committed as ever to our mission and to you. Please know that they are all working to make this transition as easy as possible for you. If you need to speak with me or with any of the members of my team, reach out! You are our priority.
Take good care of each other during this transition and always. YOU are the church! Be the church for one another! I love you all and look forward to the time I have left as your parish priest. Please pray for me and I will pray for you. God Bless you all!

Bishop Noonan has shared this very important Pastoral Letter on Racism. Please click here to read it, and please continue to pray for our country and our world!
Our Church is open for Mass and Private Prayer!
Whether or not to physically attend Mass is a choice that each of you will have to make for yourselves and your families. The obligation to attend Mass will remain lifted until further notice, and all Masses will be available on our YouTube channel. Please, if you are ill or compromised in any way, pray with us from the safety of your home. We know that you will be with us in spirit – as we will be with you! If you do choose to join us in person for Mass, please know that only the main front doors will be unlocked, and the Holy Water Stoup will remain empty. We ask that you simply make the sign of the cross upon entering the church.
Homilies may be shortened during this transitional period to allow adequate time for people to exit safely while distancing after Mass and to allow time to clean and prepare for the next Mass. Offertory baskets will not be passed. Instead, there will be basket for you to drop your offertory gifts upon entering the church. Online giving remains another excellent option. During the Sign of Peace, please offer a reverent bow or a verbal “Peace be with you,” but refrain from physical contact.
Holy Communion will only be distributed in the form of the Sacred Host. Remember that the Roman Missal is clear in stating that “Christ, whole and entire, and the true Sacrament, is received even under only one species.” The Sacred Host will only be distributed to the hands of the communicant, not the tongue.
Hymnals and missalettes have been removed from church. During Mass, we will be using the screens in church, and we invite you to access the readings on your phone using our Parish App. Links to download the Parish App can be found below. Cantors and musicians will lead you in song, but we will not be able to have our full Choir return until further notice. So please, when you attend Mass, lift your voices in song for the glory of God!
We will continue to create a Bulletin for you each week, but it will not be available in printed form. Our Bulletins are always available on our website and our Parish App. Each week, the bulletin has content such as Gospel Meditations, coloring pages and other activities for the kids, discussion questions about Sunday’s readings, school updates, and more.

An Act of Spiritual Communion
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in Battle;
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, cast into Hell,
Satan and all the other evil spirits,
who prowl through the world,
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
ORACIÓN A SAN MIGUEL ARCÁNGEL
