Father Tim LaBo

Fr. Tim was born in 1958 in a small town of Ohio.  This was his home for the first 18 years of his life.  In 1977, he came to Florida to study Marine Biology at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.  While in college, Fr. Tim became involved with Campus Ministry under the guidance of Fr. George Moreau.  By the middle of his senior year, Fr. LaBo had made the decision to enter the Seminary and study for the Diocese of Orlando.  He finished his undergraduate degree in June of 1981.  That Fall, he began his seminary formation at St. Meinrad College and completed Philosophy and Religious Studies requirements.  In the Fall of 1982, he entered the major Seminary of St. Mary’s in Baltimore, Maryland.  During his five years there, he earned a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Licenciate degree in Moral Theology.  On May 31, 1986, Fr. Tim was ordained a priest by the late Bishop Thomas J. Grady.

Fr. LaBo has been a Catholic priest for 33 years and has served in the following parishes: St. Mary Magdalen (Maitland), St. Margaret Mary (Winter Park), St. Peter’s (Deland), Our Lady of Lourdes (Melbourne), St. Charles (Orlando), St. Francis of Assisi (Apopka), Holy Redeemer (Kissimmee), and St. Rose of Lima (Poinciana).  Fr. Tim went back to school in 1998 at Barry University and completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership in December of 2005.  His dissertation explored the relationship between Leader-Member Exchange and Emotional Intelligence in Public School Leadership.  He has served as a member of numerous committees including the Diocesan Finance Committee, Diocesan School Board, Diocesan Insurance Committee, and as the Dean of the Central South Deanery from 2014 to 2018.  He was Pastor of Holy Redeemer and St. Rose of Lima concurrently.  On June 1, 2018, Fr. Tim was appointed pastor of St. Joseph and on August 1, 2019 he was appointed Dean/Vicar Forane of the Western Deanery. Effective July 15; Fr. Tim has been appointed by Bishop Noonan as the Canonical Administrator of Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland, while continuing to serve as Pastor of St. Joseph.
